A FEW EASY WALKS RIGHT ON OUR DOORSTEP

1. CRAIGDARROCH OAK WOODLAND

AND TARVIE LOCHS

Craigdarroch meaning 'Rock of Oaks' is home to the most northerly area of sessile oak woodland. Circular walks weave through the woodland up onto the higher ground to discover secret hill lochs where brilliant views can be had all around.

2. THE RIVER BLACKWATER AND ROGIE FALLS

Walk from your base at Craigdarroch Hotel to the river Blackwater with forest trails along the river

including the dramatic Rogie Falls crossed by a suspension bridge. Then either walk west, to Garve

along the shores of Loch Garve

arriving at Silverbridge and then if you wish, on to Ben Wyvis,  or east to Strathpeffer, Knock Farril and Loch Ussie.

3. THREE DAMS WALK

From the hotel down the path to Loch Achilty. Follow the roadway around the loch and on up to the Falls of Conon and Luichart dam. From here 2 miles along the top of the Meig gorge to Loch Meig dam with extensive views of upper Strathconon and the peaks of Sgurr a 'Mhuilinn and Meallan nan Uan. Then its 3 miles to Torr Achilty dam with views over Scatwell estate

and attractive farmland of lower Strathconon. From here walk back to the hotel with excellent views of Ben Wyvis. Total 12 miles.

A FEW MORE ADVANCED HILL WALKS FURTHER AFIELD

CRAIGDARROCH LODGE is surrounded by some great hill walking experiences, all just a short drive from the hotel ....to the north and west Ben Wyvis, An Teallach, Beinn Eighe,  The Fannaichs, Stac Pollaidh and Strathconon, to the south Glen Strathfarrar and Glen Orrin, to name just a few.
